Perhaps one of the temples is loose, the frame is broken, or the glass has fallen out. At the Repair Caf\u00e9, such problems are often easy to solve; our repairers successfully repair more than 60 per cent of the broken sunglasses brought in, according to the RepairMonitor, in which Repair Caf\u00e9 volunteers keep track of everything they repair.<\/p>\n<p>Most Repair Caf\u00e9s have the right tools to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bMXIykYl0hk\">tighten tiny screws<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3gCMnmnodPk\">solder a temple<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8asynrufbOw\">glue a broken frame<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Fixing faltering fans<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-47259 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.repaircafe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Schermafbeelding-2023-05-25-om-11.15.08-300x224.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-47259 lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.repaircafe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Schermafbeelding-2023-05-25-om-11.15.08-300x224.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.repaircafe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Schermafbeelding-2023-05-25-om-11.15.08-300x224.png 300w, https:\/\/www.repaircafe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Schermafbeelding-2023-05-25-om-11.15.08-1024x766.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.repaircafe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Schermafbeelding-2023-05-25-om-11.15.08-768x575.png 768w, https:\/\/www.repaircafe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Schermafbeelding-2023-05-25-om-11.15.08.png 1478w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/noscript>You can also come to the Repair Caf\u00e9 with faltering fans. Many fans run fine again after they have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XsKISkSWIrI\">cleaned<\/a> or the moving parts have been lubricated. Sometimes a wire needs to be reconnected, a switch replaced, or the cable shortened. Fan repairs at the Repair Caf\u00e9 are successful in over half of the cases. This cord can snap when it is worn out. Fortunately, it is possible to thread in a new pulley. There are several videos on YouTube in which home repairers demonstrate this, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mXB3jeWyK9w\">this video with Dutch explanations<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iPKAhL00t_E\">this video in English<\/a>.
